99 Ranch Market

Chinatown (a.k.a. the International District) is a great place to find a lot of Asian foods in Seattle.  But, if you live in the suburbs and you don't feel like fighting traffic (especially looking for parking), going to 99 Ranch Market in Kent is an alternative.

The Mall
99 Ranch Market is located in the Great Wall Shopping Mall.  I love how it rhymes!  It's located on East Valley Highway and is open daily from 9 am - 9 pm.  Though…the shops inside have their own store hours!

The Arcade Area
The mall also has an arcade right next to 99 Ranch Market, where you can play shooting games, race cars, grab plushy toys with the crane machines, ride a little merry-go-round…It's a great place to hangout and relive childhood…

Though (again), I didn't really play any of the arcade games when I was younger…and did head down to the Great Wall Shopping Mall.  I just wasn't into games much until Gameworks opened up.

 99 Ranch Market
The market is the main reason why we headed down here.  You can find just about anything here, from fruits and veggies, bottled Asian sauces, rice, mochi, dried tofu and frozen fish to rice cookers, household goods, a deli, Chinese-style fruit topped cakes, and candies from around Asia.  It's a really great place that has a lot of selection of things we can also find in Hong Kong!  Products range from China, Japan and Korea to Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand.

I hadn't been down here for over 10 years.  It's interesting to see how it still seems quite similar to how it was before.  It's a comforting feeling!

It was a great morning of checking out the aisle and seeing all the stuff that I can also find in Hong Kong.  It is another reconfirmation that the world can be such a small place.
